WordPress and Windows 10 Edge browser: Drag and Drop Not Supported
Hello, I am Don Silvernail of Silvernail Web Design. I am a tech geek and love to be one of the first to try out new software and gadgets. I am also a WordPress designer located in Somerset County NJ. So I decided to take my love for tech and combine it with my passion, Web Design. As we all know the old Internet Explorer browsers were slow and did not always produce the same rendering of a website as let say Google Chrome or Firefox. With the announcement of Microsoft Edge Browser I thought there would be a chance to catch up with the competitors. While the browser is fast and has a great feel to it there are some overbearing issues. The biggest is drag and drop support. Microsoft was supposedly increasing drag and drop support to many of its internal applications but how did the Edge Browser get missed? If you have a fix let me know in the comments below. I would like to keep using the browser to test for more WordPress compatibility.
As a WordPress designer I am constantly dragging and dropping files into the media uploaders of WordPress, Facebook, and other social networks. It is amazing to me that this would not be ready to go right away. In fact this issue may push me to back into the Google or Mozilla camp.
Overall I do feel Windows 10 is a big upgrade. I love the new feel of OneDrive and the UI is mostly improved over Windows 8. This operating system is slimmed down and I find my self becoming more productive as I get my hands dirty with all the new features. I definitely recommend this as an upgrade if you are still with early versions of Windows.
